If you think new construction is a sure thing, think again. 
While some new homes turn out to be nearly perfect, many turn out to have serious problems that don’t reveal themselves until after you’ve moved in. 
And builders' warranties won't cover everything that could go wrong with your new home.

Consumers should buy new construction because they want a lot of say in a home’s floor plan and finishes or because they can’t find an existing home that meets their requirements. 
For reliability, go with an existing home that has proven itself and that has been well maintained. New homes, like new cars, can be lemons.
